A growing money bank means as it says, a growing money bank. The idea is a traditional moeny bank that grow in size as to its content. The money bank will be a solid made out of a stretching foam, just like yhe materials that kids play with. The production of this item will be a novelty and not a mass production.

Dream Of Big
Since I start working from the age of 19, I have worked in 1 big organisation; that have more then 50 employees, 1 medium company; about 15 employees; and 5 small companies with 4 and less staffs.
From my experience, it is easier and more dynamic to be in a small company. You get to dip your finger in many jars. Yes! It is fun and fine to 'gain experience' while you are young and hungry to learn.
Soon I find out that staying with a small company can be emotionally draining.
Why? Simply because the director or owner who put in their own money for the company are self-pressured to perform and make money. They tend to be tempremental, demanding and sometimes I would call bipolar. Their mood swings like a pendulum. Laughing and joking one minute and the next minute they become the obnoxious of a human being.
Unlike a director of a big cooperation, they are most of the time more patient and better teacher. They communicate better too.
So here is my theory. An entrepreneur should never ever try to grow their business on their own. They need a professional coach for themselves and business consultant to guide their business to the next level. That is why VCs will lay down their rules and conditions when they give the company funds to expand.
I would love to be part of a big cooperation again. Where there are departments, annual DnD, Wellness Wednesdays, annual bonuses, off-site team building, management meeting and monthly birthday celebration. At the age of late 30s, would it still be possible?

Discovered Persuasion
I dread reading Jane Austen's stories but ironically I love the drama adaptations of them.
My first love for Jane Austen's stories was for Sense and Sensibility acted by Emma Thompson. The movie was hopeful and pure. I watched the movie on my own because no one in my circle cared for such stories.
When I was in England, I took the time to visit Bath and the fashion
gallery of the 17th Century. I felt at home. Yes, I am hopelessly
romantic when it comes to courtship. The admiration, the introduction
and the communication of the good society then was very much elegant
and genuine.
Then, I was introduced to Mr Darcy (Colin Firth) much talked about in Bridget Jones Diary. I bought the infamous BBC Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth and I understood the buzz about "Mr Darcy", the character and the actor. I watch the DVD almost every night for 2 weeks. Over and over again. Even the movie version by Keira Knightly did not make the cut for me.
Until recently when I found out that BBC or ITV had a Jane Austen's month and telecast adaptations of Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. I watched the drama online (shamefully) and was blowned away with all 3 dramas, especially Persuasion. The producers did a wonderful job of casting very very good looking lead actors. The screenplay was engaging, the costumes were inviting and magic of Jane Austen once again been relived in this hopefully romantic soul.
Dashing actor in Persuasion, Rupert Penry-Jones. (Ah....) definately will be the next Mr Darcy.

Setting your mood for the day
Reading emails in the morning can either set your day with a good start or a bad start for the rest of the day. So, if you are not in the industry with emails are your bread and butter, I suggest, that you check your inbox at 4pm in the afternoon.
Why? At least it will give you a whole full morning to be inspired with your ideas, plan your week and not have your day or mood be driven by the emails.
Initiative takes more effort and empowering than Reactive mood.
So, to my friends, if you sent me an email, it will only get read at 4pm in the day. Because, I value and respect myself to be bothered and concerned by any bad news.
Oh, if there are good news, I am sure you know how to find me.
Ring! Ring!

Big on Bike
So i am sitting at MacD Pasir Ris overlooking about a hundred or so parked bicycles. We cannot say that Singaporean are not trying to lower the number of cars on the road. Come 6pm every weekday, owners of there bicycles in shirts pants and backpack will be greeted by their transportation back home. Bicycle, is a great invention.

Law of finding Lost things
Someone told me that there is a way to find things that you lost or just can't find.
To find the items you lost, you need to verbalized the items you lost to someone like, for example
"Hey, have you seen my car keys?"
Almost as immediate you will find the item. Even after you looked at the same place over and over again.
I am not sure if it work all the time but, worth the try. Seems to work for me mostly. I usually verbalized to my cat.

What is Mission and Vision
I just returned from T Harv Eker's Life Directions last weekend.
The 3 days seminar was about finding my life purpose. In the past, I have been taught about writing corporate Mission and Vision but never quite like this. Never quite like how the tools and questions that provoked me while writing my personal mission and vision statement.
What I learned was, a Mission is what I would like to dedicate my life to. It is a cause that is beyond my lifetime. It could be small, it could be big. But it resonates with me and without the need for other's approvals.
A Vision is an accomplishment that I obtained and achieve for the Mission. Visions are planned periodically 3-5 years, 10 years etc. And the juicy point that I learned, Visions are vehicles for my mission. I can have multiple visions that are in line with my mission. That point sets me free. I felt a whole lot better now. I can have and pursue many opportunities that is in line with my personal mission and current vision.
Am I ready to live my Mission and make a difference?
YES!

Why Facebook?
Apart from the annoying notification from my Facebook
friends of request to be a Vampire, being Poked and Hug request, I have to say that Facebook has resurrected very very old friends. People from my primary school found me on Facebook.
Honestly, if I was walking down Orchard Road and saw my primary schoolmates, I would be second guessing and would even hesitate to call.
Reason being, people looks change after 15 years. Bigger, older, fatter, skinnier. But on Facebook when I list the schools I attended, this person without thinking twice to send me a message to confirm it was me. High chance I am the person they enquire from the school listings.
Previously, in school, we never even talk! We were in the same class. That's
about it!
I love this bit of Facebook. I am definitely curious of what happened to my
schoolmates. And I am sure they are of me too.
It is fantastic! :-)

Quiz Me
I must admit that Facebook is becoming an addiction for me. Every chance I get on the net, I will want to check if anyone has added new apps or if anyone has given me Hatching Eggs, Growing Gifts or Ice Creams.
I also kind of notice that there are a growing number of quiz to determine who you are, like
Who you are in your past life?
Are you going to be a Millionaire?
What kind of a lover are you?
Can these self-discovery quizzes be a determining factor to the person who takes them? Example, if I were to take the quiz," Are you going to be a Millionaire?" and found out that I am not going to be one, that would in some way discourage me on my venture to be one. Because, some 10 questions quiz from so called expert psychology said so!
How does these results impact ones outlook on his or her life?
Whether online of offline, these desire to know the destination affects our lives.
As the saying "It is not about the destination. It is about the Journey."

Big Resolution Small Goals
First and second week of January is going to be the 'Happy New Year!' and 'What is your resolution for the year' topic kind of conversation. It is the easiest ice-breaker and a natural reason to call up a friend.
It really makes no difference to me. Another year is a another day. But of course like any other residence of an urban society, I do get the wrapped up in the resolution excitement. Just so that I don't miss out. Duh.
Does resolution really work? Too much of it, leave you exhausted and too little of it leaves you under achieving yourself.
My strategy is to set 1 goal at a time and when I achieved that goal, I set another. It is not a big goal like "I am going to make a million dollars this year" or "I am going to get myself to size 6". Not that I am saying it is unachievable. It can be done. Only after the little goals. It is a continuous goal setting. Climbing a mountain begins with a step (cliche)
Working the good habits is my small goal for now.

Hady 1st Asian Idol
I must say at close to midnight last night, there were lots of cheers near my block. That would include me, jumping up and down and screaming. I religiously watched the performance show as well as the results show, switching from Channel 5 and RCTI.
All the screaming came when Hady Mirza was announced as the First Asian Idol. He was chosen from the most number of SMS votes that was sent by the viewers from 6 different countries competing. Some might wonder. Well, it is good that Singapore sent an Idol to compete. Jacklyn Victor from Malaysia was a clear the best singer of the 6. Mau Marcelo from Philippines showed her diva performance and Mike Mohede from Indonesia was captivating the home crowd with a Ruben's teddy bear persona. Vietnam's Idol Phuong Vy was the sweetest of the lot. Abhijeet Sawant is definitely the up and coming Bollywood actor who can sings!
The way that the voting works, obviously, that Hady is the best 2nd choice for many of the other countries. Although Singapore probably has the least number of votes compared to the other countries like India, Indonesia and Philippines, it is obvious that most of them had chosen Hady to be the 2nd best to their own country's Idol. Which has worked mathematically in favour of Hady.
Like what Ken Tan said, the winner of the Asian Idol might not be the best singer but the one who has the most appeal.
Spot on!
After the results, RCTI showed Hady and Abhijeet's duet on a Hindi song. Hady sound good and versatile to sing in another language. Catch it on YouTube.

A Sweeter Fruit

Just something that I thought of. Whatever the challenges I have about work and things that I do, somehow, when I put that extra work, that extra time to it, the results would not be as satisfying if I were to be working on my own business or passion.
I would imagine the satisfaction of the completion would be accompanied with a smile instead of a relief.

A Millionaire Mind Blowing Weekend
For the last 3 days I attended a program called Millionaire Mindset Intensive by T Harv Eker, author of the best seller "The Secrets of Millionaire Mind".
The program was Intensive, Compact, High-Energy filled with Practical tools and inspiring.
I was first introduced to T.Harv Eker, from a friend of mine who recommended me to his website, which leads me to the book and his teleseminar at 4am in the morning (Singapore Time).
Truth to be told, he and his co-presenter Rob Riopel is an amazing duo over the weekend. Estimated 4000 people attended and had great learning and fun. Coming from another friend of mine who attended the same program in LA 3 years back, she said the materials, program has improved and she did not regret attending again as refresher after 3 years.
I eventually bought 10 copies of his books which comes with 2 tickets to his next program in Malaysia/Singapore 2008. So for those who would like a copy of this book, you are welcome to contact me. It is a definite must for those who would like to move forward with their success.

Just give Marketers a Blow Horn
Majority of marketers just want eyeballs count on the ads, advertisement and message that they put out. Their objective is to make the products desirable. Period.
The keyword here is 'Eyeball'. If there exist a magic Blow Horn where every message that comes out of it will reach every ear or eyes on the planet, every marketer would want one.
YouTube, the number of people uploading and watching videos on YouTube... Whoaa... a very large number. Everyone is there, we should be there too.
Facebook, Microsoft just bought Facebook and the number of people using Facebook is increasing by the second worldwide! Whoaa... a very large number. We should be there too.
The question is,
1. Which category is mostly viewed on YouTube?
2. Why are people using Facebook for? Business or Social?
If your products is not meant for any of these groups, you are wasting time. (Since both are free, there is no money involved here)
The problem is, most marketers do not understand technology and what it can do for them. They just want their message to be on everything and everywhere. Magic Blow Horn. Being everywhere would devalue the brand.
Do they care who is listening? Hmm...
The power of technology allows marketer to create a desirable product tailored to that market, to the individual. But all I see from lazy marketers with "Magic" Blow Horn, same message for everybody! Be it their members, customer, website visitors or referral.

What is love?
I received this in my inbox. It is so pure the meaning of love to a child.
What Love means to a 4-8 year old . . Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is so worth it. Touching words from the mouth of babes. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"

When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small prayer for the person who sent you this.
Heavenly Father, please bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of Your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You. Amen.

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,
"Nothing, I just helped him cry"
When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small prayer for the person who sent you this.
Heavenly Father, please bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of Your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You. Amen.
Then send it on to five other people, including the one who sent it to you. Within hours you caused a multitude of people to pray for other people. Then sit back and watch the power of God work in your life.

Tips to clear your head
SLEEP...
Whenever you feel overwhelmed, brain blocked, could not find the solution to your problem, simply SLEEP.
Nothing beats a good 10mins nap or a good night sleep. Every thing becomes clear afterwards.
So, snooze.

Discovering Family Tree
On the first day of Hari Raya, I realized that the number of relatives has multiply. This has totally blew my mind as, only my parents are very much in contact with them. It seems that there are no initiatives from my age generation to get to know them. This has let me to set up a guest book for all my relatives who come and visit my house this year.
Even better, my friend Dom, introduce www.geni.com to keep track of his family tree. This is amazing. I can create my family tree and I can invite any of my relatives (with emails, of course) to update their profiles and add their own family tree.
This is a great history and family record archives for me, my family and the younger generations of the family. Totally cool and totally Web 2.0. My kind of thing. Project for my Dad is to consolidate photos of my ancestors, if they exist.
